Getting Involved in Clinical Research

Wondering how you can help to push Parkinson’s research forward?

One way is to get involved in clinical trials. Clinical trials (also called clinical research, medical research or a clinical study) are studies intended to help answer specific questions about potential new treatments by studying their effects in people. Sometimes they are the last stages before medications make it to market – and your medicine cabinet. Other times, it is the point at which researchers realize the great results they saw in animals, do not hold true in people – and they start their efforts anew.

You can learn more about clinical trials by first reading, Understanding Clinical Trials.

PDF is working to improve the clinical research system, increase awareness of clinical trials, and most importantly, ensure that people with PD are a part of the process.
